ABOUT THE ARTIST

Typing “Rosalind Welcher” (without the quotes) into Google or any search engine will come up with a long list of her out of print books and Panda Prints greeting cards which are still being sought by collectors. She is listed in "Who's who in America" and some of her card designs are in the permanent collection of the Print Room of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. One of her books has recently been published in Japan.

Long known as an illustrator, she has become intrigued by the superb quality offered by the giclee process and is working exclusively with this medium.

She lives and works on the side of Little Monadnock Mountain in New Hampshire. It is heavily wooded with rocky ledges and majestic pines and hardwoods. She and her husband have placed an easement on the property so that it will remain forever wild.

She is also an ardent sailor, having sailed with her husband in two Bermuda races and across the north Atlantic in their yawl, Nightingale. (that's her steering the boat in the photo) They visited every country with a coastline from Scotland, Norway and Sweden in the north to Greece, Israel and Turkey in the south. Some of the prints offered here are from drawings made at the time.
