Main Street .........By ..Rosalind Welcher

...The turn of the twentieth century saw the blossoming of new inventions which profoundly changed people's lives. The electric light, the phonograph, the telephone and the automobile, among others. Sometimes derided as "tin lizzies" or affectionately called "flivers" the auto soon replaced the horse as a means of getting around.
... Here in "Main Street" the charm of this period comes to life as we see two flivers parked while people go about their shopping and the policeman makes his rounds. A small boy scans the offerings at the unimposing Plaza Theater, which displays the newfangled silent movies.
